ACT Prep Program
Because about 90 percent of most colleges' admission decisions and scholarship awards are based on student ACT scores, Miege has initiated a comprehensive ACT preparation program.
By using test results, lessons are designed and embedded into the current curriculum to enhance students' basic skills and test-taking abilities. This is the only three-year comprehensive ACT preparation program in the area, and it is designed to give Miege students a measurable advantage in their pursuit of a college education.
Advantage: Miege
-
Students receive more ACT-specific preparation and instruction in their 9th, 10th and 11th grade core classes, enhancing basic skills and test-taking abilities.
-
By the time our students take the ACT, they will have already taken six retired ACT tests, increasing their confidence and reducing text anxiety.
-
All students participate in the program as part of the regular curriculum in math, English, science and social studies.
Results: Super Scores
-
In the April 2006 ACT, 13 seniors scored 32 or above. That means 6% of the class of 2006 scored above 32.
-
Plus, 29 seniors - 13% of the class - scored 30 or above.
-
Higher ACT scores translate directly into more scholarship offers. The class of 2006 earned more than $3.5 million in scholarship offers, which averages more than $16,000 per student. This was an increase of 30% over last year's scholarship offers.
