Letter of Intent Signings - Checklist
If your student has decided to sign a letter of intent to play a sport at the college level and you would like to have a signing ceremony, here are the school guidelines.
-
Choose two dates for the signing ceremony – one preferred date and one backup date. All signing ceremonies will be held during regularly scheduled Activity Periods during the school week.
-
Contact Mr. Michael Bohaty at least seven school days prior to the date of the signing. You can reach him at 913.262.2701, ext. 224 or at
mbohaty@bishopmiege.com.
-
Decide whether you would like to provide refreshments. Refreshments should be limited to a beverage and a light snack (cookies, cake or similar). Please refrain from providing meals.
-
Compile your invitation list. You and your student are responsible for informing everyone you would like to attend (except for administrators), including all family members, friends, current, future and former coaches, teachers, etc.
-
Have your student visit the Attendance Office to arrange for his or her friends to receive passes to attend the signings. Only students with passes will be allowed to enter the signing ceremony.
-
Compile a list of guests who will be attending from outside the school building for our security office. Please include all family members, previous coaches, friends, etc. This list must be delivered to the school via e-mail (
mbohaty@bishopmiege.com), fax (913.262.0273) or by your student no later than three school days before the signing is to take place.
-
Have your student compile a list of accomplishments, honors, awards and activities in which he or she participated at Miege. This information should be given to Mr. Bohaty no later than three school days before the signing ceremony.
-
On the day before the signing, call Mr. Bohaty at 913.262.2701, ext. 224, to verify the details of the ceremony and to ask any remaining questions.
-
On the day of the signing, if you plan to decorate the conference room, plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the agreed time. If you do not plan to decorate, plan to arrive about 15 minutes early.
