Our Facilities
The Kincaid Media Center
The two-story Center features 32 computer workstations with Internet access. These computers have all of the latest Microsoft software, as well as the complete contents of three sets of encyclopedias.
The computers have full access to the Kansas City Public Library Consortium, which allows students to order printed materials from the card catalogues of 26 local college and public libraries.
Lastly, the high speed Internet connection gives students access to valuable research tools, and facilitates applying for colleges and scholarships for juniors and seniors.
Another valuable resource in the Kincaid Media Center is the new video studio. The video studio is equipped with high quality and user-friendly filming, editing and production equipment. The studio provides students with the opportunity to learn all aspects of video production, including news reporting, writing plays and skits, the producing and editing of video, the use of sound, lighting and recording equipment and more.
The digital video camera is portable, allowing students to broadcast portions of newsworthy extracurricular events to the entire school via the 27-inch monitors in each classroom. The video studio is an exciting addition to the school, and the possible uses are limitless. The Center also includes eight much-needed classrooms.
The Miege Network
Cable/Video Network
Every classroom has a 27-inch television and VCR through which they can access and record 78 digital and satellite channels. All classrooms and peripheral areas can also receive programs from four VCR channels and live broadcasts from the Video Production Studio in the Media Center.
Discover Program
Discover is a computer-based career planning program which helps students choose occupations, find schools and locate financial aid providers.
PC Computer Labs
Two classroom labs with state-of-the-art hardware and software allow our students to receive instruction and to practice with the latest in applications software.
Modern Language Lab
The Modern Language Lab allows students to communicate directly to the instructor or listen to educational language cassettes through individual headsets.
