Earning College Credit
Dual Enrollment
Bishop Miege students may participate in dual enrollment (the College Now program) by attending approved classes at Miege for which college credit may be obtained at Johnson County Community College, Rockhurst College and Benedictine College. (Registration with the college is handled at Miege). More than 60 college credit hours are available from the following courses:
AP Comp/Major British Writers
AP Literary Analysis
AP U.S. History (to 1877)
AP U.S. History (from 1877)
AP Government
AP Studio Art
AP Biology
AP Calculus
Advanced Placement
Bishop Miege students may earn college credit by taking advanced placement classes at Miege and taking the A.P. exams in May. Advanced Placement credits are widely accepted, but colleges and college departments vary considerably on score requirements and credit awarded.
Miege students have taken A.P. exams and successfully earned college credits in English, American History, Studio Art, Biology, Calculus, Chemistry and Foreign Languages. Contact the Miege Guidance Office at 913-262-2700 for more information.
