Instrumental Music Overview

Zero Hour Band
This group is for students who already play an instrument and are able to be in the First Hour Band. These musicians will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7:05-7:40 a.m. This group will perform with the First Hour Band. There is no audition required to be in this group. The same expectations for First Hour Band apply here.

First Hour Band
This group is for students who already play an instrument. We will be performing ever increasingly tougher literature. Students who have room in their schedule are expected to be in this band.  In this band we will work on technique, tone development, musicality and serious literature. This band will perform at school concerts and selected music festivals.

Pep Band
The band will perform at basketball games. It will be comprised of students in Zero and First Hour bands. Students are required to be in Pep Band unless there are direct conflicts with the individual sporting events. Music performed will help encourage school spirit.

Jazz Band
This group will be made up from both Zero and First Hour Band. It will give students an opportunity to perform a different style of music, which will consist of jazz, rock, and pop. This group will play for concerts and selected music festivals.
