Bishop Miege Forensics Team
Forensics is a co-curricular Fine Arts course offered in the spring semester. It is an advanced public speaking and acting class, so students must have previously completed Speech, Debate, or Acting I to enroll in the course. Class work is devoted to improving public speaking and acting skills. Class time is also devoted to preparing for competition against other Kansas high schools. Students may participate in a variety of activities: extemporaneous speaking, oratory, informative, Lincoln-Douglas debate, Public Forum debate, student congress, dramatic solo acting, humorous solo acting, duet acting, prose interpretation, poetry interpretation, and improvised duet acting. Tournament competition occurs on Friday and Saturday from the end of January until the State Tournament the first week in May. Bishop Miege High School is proud of its numerous individual State Champions over the years, including the 2005 5A State Poetry Champion, Mark Green!
