Bishop Miege Athletics

We are proud of our rich tradition of excellence both in and out of the classroom, as well as the opportunity to serve our community by focusing on the total student. We offer outstanding programs and encourage our parents and patrons to be positive sportsmen and women as our students grow into young Christian adults through competition.

Bishop Miege encourages our parents to become involved with their student-athlete's team through membership in our Miege Activities Booster Club. We hope you will attend our Parent Sport Information nights  and our Sports nights offered at the start of each season.

Bishop Miege believes that it is important to educate our students about the problems of using alcohol or drugs. This education is lifelong and is a school and family process both offering positive alternatives to the use of drugs or alcohol. We hope our parents will join our cause and sign the Safe Parent Pledge and be a positive example for our students.

Bishop Miege is a School of Faith and balances our Catholic faith with our educational goals and our activities. We are happy to offer the blessings of our God as part of our educatoinal process and competitive activities.

Required physicals
A sports phsycial must be on file in the nurse’s office in order for your student to be able to try out for athletics. Forms can be picked up in the Attendance Office or downloaded from the Web site. Make sure we have all signatures from parents and students on the forms. Physicals must be turned in on or before the first day of fall tryouts. Download both the Miege Medical History Form and the KSHSAA required form here.

Bishop Miege is implementing an innovative program for our student-athletes. This program's goal is to better manage concussions sustained by or student-athletes. The computerized exam is given to athletes before beginning contact sports activities. The test takes approximately 30 minutes to administer, and will be offered free of cost to Miege athletes on August 10 & 11, from 4-7 p.m. in the Media Center on a first-come-first serve basis. Please read this document for more information regarding this program, and complete the form if you are interested in your student participating in this optional program. The forms must be completed in full with parent signature, and athletes must bring the forms with them to testing in order to participate in the IMPACT program.

Please call Maura Peterson, school nurse, at 913-262-2700 ext. 225, or Linda Gregg, athletic trainer, at 913-262-2700 ext. 256, if you have any questions.
